From the outstanding Barrow Golf Club, set amidst panoramic views of the Lakeland Mountains and the beauty of the Farmers’ Peninsula, you are invited to come and hone your golfing skills. My name is Michael Newton and I’ve been a Qualified PGA Golf Professional since 2002 where I graduated through The Professionals Golfers Association Diploma Programme.
Since qualifying in 2002 I have concentrated on the rewarding teaching side of the profession and have gradually built up a wonderful, enthusiastic clientele that ranges from juniors to seniors, beginners to advanced players.
I became Head Professional at Barrow Golf Club in March 2006 and since then I have built a state of the art ‘Swing & Custom Fit Studio’ which joins onto the shop. The building holds some of the latest technology to assist with my coaching and club fitting. There is no need to worry about the weather anymore either, as lessons and fitting sessions can take place in the comforts of the Studio.
I have a wide range of demo clubs available to try and have Custom Fit accounts with the following companies.
Titleist, Ping, Callaway, Nike, Mizuno, Cobra, Taylor Made, Srixon, Wilson and Yes! Putters.
I have just received a piece of new software which enables myself to custom fit putters to suit the players set-up position and stroke. It's the same piece of equpiment that Yes! Golf use at their 'Harold Swash Putting School Of Excellence' for fitting putters.
